Developping inclusion of disabled people
04/2016 • Updated 14/04/2017
Since 2008, in close collaboration with local and international experts (associations, not-for-profit organisations, NGOs), we have been developing a global policy for integrating people with disabilities in companies.
In 2016, L’Oréal’s workforce included 1,010 people who wanted to declare their disability and/or who are officially recognised as disabled.
To step up the engagement of its subsidiaries, L’Oréal has been organising the Disability Initiatives Trophies since 2008. This biennial award ceremony showcases and shares the best practices conducted by the various L’Oréal entities. In 2016, 65 L’Oréal subsidiaries competed for these trophies.
L’Oréal was one of the first companies to sign the International Labor Organization’s new Global Business and Disability Network Charter
In November 2015, L’Oréal was one of the first companies to sign the International Labor Organization’s new Global Business and Disability Network Charter, which seeks to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities in the workplace. Every five years, since 2005, we have also published a Diversity Report to share achievements linked to its efforts to promote diversity. L’Oréal published its first international Diversity Report in 2015.
