Beauty care in shanty-towns
The 2014 edition of Citizen Day, the Group’s global day of collective voluntary actions of social responsibility, inspired nearly half of L’Oréal Argentina’s employees to get actively involved and had a positive impact on nearly 2,200 people.
For the second consecutive year, beauty salons were set up in two shanty-towns, Cildañez and Los Piletones, in Buenos Aires. Nearly 500 women were welcomed, most of whom had never had the chance of visiting a beauty salon. After enjoying cosmetics makeovers and hairstyling from L’Oréal staff and professional hairdressers, they all left with a smile. This initiative, which was tried for the first time in 2013, seeks to give these women renewed confidence and pride. And it was also a chance for the L’Oréal teams to confirm the day-to-day impact their occupation has on self-esteem. There were other initiatives, as well, including renovating and refurbishing shelters for people in challenging circumstances.Back to « Developing »
