More than 1,200 L’Oréal Mexico employees took part in the 2014 Citizen Day, a day of collective voluntary actions of social responsibility organised worldwide by the Group.
Armed with rollers and cans of paint, the subsidiary’s volunteers renovated the walls of orphanages and a school in Mexico City and San Luis Potosi. This renovation has improved living conditions for more than 350 children. Other community projects were also completed in 2014, including the reforestation of land in Mexico City and San Luis and holding workshops for residents of a foster home. For Imelda Navarette, Ethics Director at the Mexican subsidiary, “what’s important isn’t so much sprucing up the walls or planting trees; it’s restoring hope to the hearts of those who so desperately need it, to help them build a better life.”Back to « Developing »
